Entering Consumption Data for Purchased Electricity, Heat and Steam
Use the Indirect Emissions (Scope 2) tab to enter consumption data for your purchased electricity, heat, and steam. The application uses the energy grid factors entered for your electricity use to account for the variety of fuels that go into electricity production.
If you are using the Archibus Energy application to record energy consumption data, you do not need to reenter utility information. Green Building can automatically incorporate existing energy totals for computing buildings’ Scope 2 emissions.
To enter your electrical energy consumption for a year:
- Select Carbon Footprint - Track / Enter Building Footprint Data.
- From the Building Footprints panel, select the building and calculation year for which you are entering consumption data.
- Select the Indirect Emissions (Scope 2) tab.
- On the Purchased Electricity, Heat, and Steam tab, click Add New.
- In the Purchased Electricity, Heat, and Steam Source panel, enter the following information.
Electricity Consumption: Enter the amount of purchased electricity consumed for the calculation year.
Electricity Consumption Units: Select the units for measuring the electricity consumption.
- Click Save.
The application calculates greenhouse gas emissions for this source, and displays the emissions in the upper Footprints panel.
