Sustainability & Risk / Green Building / Carbon Footprint - Track
Entering Data for Employee Transportation (Air)
Use the Employee Transportation (Air) tab to record the distance employees travel for work using aircraft that are not owned by the company. You enter the distance, seat type, and flight type (long, medium, or short haul) for this travel. To calculate emissions, the application uses the commercial aircraft factors entered for this seating type and distance using the protocol identified by the Commercial Aircraft Factors Version entered on the Building Footprint Details tab.
You will need the distance traveled by seat class and the distances defined by you protocol. You may need to work with your flight service provider or finance section to get this level of data. If the data is not available at this level, you might need to survey your staff.
To enter data for employee air transportation:
- Select Carbon Footprint - Track / Enter Building Footprint Data.
- From the Building Footprints panel, select the building and calculation year for which you are entering consumption data.
- Select the Indirect Emissions (Scope 3) tab.
- Select the Employee Transportation (Air) tab.
- In the Employee Air Transportation Footprints panel, click Add New.
- In the Employee Air Transportation Source panel, enter the following required information:
Seat Class: Select the type of seat for which you want to calculate emissions.
Type of Flight: Select whether the flight is short, medium, or long haul. These distances are defined by the protocol you selected for the building.
Distance Traveled: select the distance traveled using this type of train for the year.
Distance Traveled (Units): Select the units used to measure the distance.
- Click Save.
The application calculates greenhouse gas emissions for this source, and displays the emissions in the upper Footprints panel.
