Sustainability & Risk / Green Building / Carbon Footprint - Background Data

Adding Aircraft Factors

Using the Aircraft Factors task, you add data for company-owned aircraft on which to base the calculations for greenhouse gas emissions. Aircraft factors are sources of data for aircraft fuel consumption by fuel and aircraft type.

You first add the protocol and then add the consumption data by aircraft type.

To define aircraft fuel consumption protocols, aircraft types, and consumption data:

  1. Select Carbon Footprint - Background Data / Aircraft Factors.

The Define Aircraft Fuel Consumption Versions, Aircraft Types, and Consumption Data form appears.

  2. To add a aircraft fuel consumption protocol:
    1. Click Add New >Aircraft Fuel Consumption Version.
    2. Enter the following information:

Version:  Enter the name of the protocol version you are using for aircraft factors. The Version uniquely identifies this protocol version.

Version Description: Enter a description for the protocol, such as the table number the data is found in, or the year the data is for.

    3. Click Save.
  3. To enter aircraft types and consumption data:
    1. Click Add New > Aircraft Type and Consumption Data.
    2. Enter the following information:

Aircraft Type: Enter the type of aircraft for which you are entering consumption factors. You can mouse over the field to click the Show Values button to select from the existing types. If this type is not unique for the consumption version, you will need to edit it. You can also enter a type manually into the form. See Selecting predefined data for the primary keys for new records.

Average Jet Fuel Consumption: Enter the average jet fuel consumption for this aircraft type

Fuel Consumption Units: Select the units used to measure the jet fuel consumption. By default, the consumption is measured as gallons/hour, but you can define any units. See Defining Units.

Fuel Base Code: Select the type of fuel the aircraft uses.

Fuel Name: Select the specific fuel for which you are adding consumption values.

    3. Click Save.

Note: If you are working with a localized version of Archibus, you will find that the values for the Fuel Consumption Units (gallons per hour, liters per hour, and so forth) are not localized. To provide these values in other languages, the Business Process Owner can enter values with a translated description as needed
