floor plan

A CAD drawing or BIM model that depicts the elements of a building's floor. Floor plans can depict walls, doors, room boundaries, stairs, rest rooms, and so on.

CAD and BIM managers typically develop a floor plan and then register entities such as the floors and rooms as asset symbols; this links the depictions of the floors and rooms on the CAD plan to records in the Floors and Rooms tables.

Once a floor plan exists, CAD and BIM managers publish it to enterprise graphics so that it can be displayed in Web Central or mobile.

For example, the Space Console displays floor plans depicting space and occupancy assignments. Likewise, many Web Central reports display floor plans with the corresponding alphanumeric data.
