Reference documents are documents stored in the Assigned Documents table (docs_assigned table) that are associated with an equipment or furniture standard, a building use, property type, PM procedure, work request problem type, action item Action Type, or Project Type.

When you associate a reference document with one of these items, whenever a user adds items of this type, the document is also added. For example, if you associate a document that provides the steps for cleaning an air filter with the PM procedure for cleaning air filters, this document is available for all work requests that use this PM procedure.

Reference documents are not shown in the Document Library.

You associate reference documents with items using the Define Equipment or Manage Reference Documents tasks.
