furniture standards inventory
An inventory of furniture that does not precisely identify each physical furniture item with a unique key, but tracks the type of item and where it is located. For example, you may track that a particular room contains 3 office chairs, 2 arm chairs, 1 large bookcase, and 1 small bookcase. Although physical items are not precisely identified, a furniture standards inventory includes an auto-numbered record for each item, and optionally, a graphical representation in a CAD drawing. Descriptive information such as manufacturer, standard dimensions and price can be recorded with the furniture standard, but not the individual items.
You develop and maintain a furniture standards inventory working from the Smart Client in the Asset Portal, Assets, Enterprise Assets applications, or in the Assets module. For these applications and module, furniture standard inventory reports are available in Web Central.
A furniture standards inventory is stored in the Furniture Standards Inventory (FN) table.
