Defining Craftspersons and Trades

When managing moves, craftspersons are the movers, the staff who execute the move. If you have not already developed Craftsperson records using another Archibus application or module, you can define your movers (craftspersons) as part of developing move data.

Trades

Run the Define Trades task to access the Trades table and record basic information about the trades of the craftspersons who work at your site. Trade Code is a required field and defines skill categories by which you group craftspersons; mover, mechanic, plumber, and electrician are examples. Note that the system uses the rate information (hourly rate, overtime rate, and so on) to estimate a move's cost.

Craftspersons

Note: The Define Craftspersons task for moves presents the same view as found in the Maintenance applications and Maintenance module. The view's Daily Schedule tab offers several fields that are not necessary to enter for use with the Moves application, such as defining shifts and schedule variances. You can ignore the Daily Schedule tab and focus on the fields of the view's General tab.

To enter craftsperson data:

  1. Select the Define Craftspersons task.
    The Craftsperson form appears.
  2. Enter an Craftsperson Code and Craftsperson Name values.
  3. Enter a Primary Trade value. This is a required validated field. You are required to select a value from the select list to enter this value.
  4. Continue to add any additional values that are available. For information on the fields, see the Maintenance topic for defining craftspersons: Define Trades, Work Teams, Craftspersons, and Supervisors (Maintenance).
  5. Click the Save button to save your changes. This Craftsperson data is saved to the Craftspersons table.
  6. Click Add New to add an additional entry to the Craftspersons table.
  7. Click Save to save your changes.
  8. Continue to add any craftspersons that are not already part of the Craftspersons table.

Note: After you have added new data in the Craftspersons table, make sure to add this information to the Users and Employees tables so that email can be sent to craftspersons.
