Notifying Employees about Upcoming Safety Requirements
In order to effectively manage their time, employees need to be notified when they have upcoming safety program requirements (workplace-required medical appointments, workplace training, and delivery of PPE) which will interrupt their daily work. Knowing in advance that they need to allot time for medical appointments, training courses, or delivery of new PPE ensures that:
- employees schedule time out of their daily work to meet these requirements
- employees are aware of these requirements and must take responsibility to fulfill them.
Employees need to know the original scheduled date, as well as date changes, cancellations, and rescheduled dates.
You can set up the system to automatically alert employees when there are new dates, changed dates, or cancelled dates for any combination of the following:
- PPE delivery
- medical monitoring appointments
- training classes
Whenever the safety officer sets new requirements, changes the dates of requirements, or deletes requirements, the system will automatically send an email message to the employee to alert them to this upcoming event or changed event.
To implement the notification system for employees:
- Using the Background Data / Application Parameters task, set the following parameters to Yes:
NotifyTraining
NotifyPPE
NotifyMedicalMonitoring
- Verify that all employees' email addresses are entered in the Employees table.
