Before You Begin Installing Archibus with Oracle

Before you install Archibus for use with Oracle, you should review the following.

Site Preparation

You should have the following information on hand before beginning the installation procedure:

You may also wish to plan how much disk space your eventual data files will require, and on which drives the data files are to be stored. If you have scheduled time from a corporate Oracle database administrator for this installation, you may wish to submit the .sql and .dmp files to the database administrator prior to the installation. In this way, the database administrator will be able to review the proposed Oracle tablespaces, users, and permissions ahead of time.

Although Oracle supports a number of different operating systems, and Archibus can work with a variety of these Oracle database servers, this documentation uses the path names for Oracle for Windows NT.

For information on Oracle 10g Release 2, see Using Archibus with Oracle 10g Release 2.
