Set Up OnSite Users

Follow these steps to set up users to access OnSite.

Note: If you notice on the OnSite sign-in screen that there are lowercase user names, be aware that these user names were automatically created by Okta. Okta is case-insensitive so that when Okta auto-creates users, the names are lower case in OnSite. You must delete these lowercase Okta-generated user names and create new ones from Web Central; the names created in Web Central will be in uppercase. When you log into OnSite again, you will not see the users with lowercase names.

Step 1: Create an IdP Account

Ensure that OnSite users have an account in the selected identity provider platform (IdP).

Step 2: Add the User to the Archibus Users Table

Run the System / Archibus Administrator - User and Security / Add or Edit Users task and create Archibus user accounts (records in the afm_users table) for OnSite users.

Step 3: Create a Craftsperson Record

For each OnSite user, create a corresponding record in the Craftspersons (cf) table.

The value for the email address in the Craftsperson record (cf.email) must match the value for this user in the Archibus Users table (afm_users.email). This is required because this value is the link that OnSite uses to find the corresponding Work Request records when a user logs in.

Step 4: Craftsperson Logs in to OnSite

Once the above steps are taken, the user can sign into OnSite. For details, see Sign In to OnSite.
