Install Microsoft SQL Server

If your corporation has standardized on Microsoft SQL Server, your database administrator will most likely have a preferred configuration for the server. If not, the following instructions describe a typical installation.

For more detailed installation instructions and system requirements, consult your Microsoft SQL Server documentation set.

1. Run the Setup.exe. Follow the instructions on screen.
2. Read the Release Notes and Install SQL Server Prerequisites for your operating system as needed.
3. Install Microsoft SQL Server Components. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Note: Make note of the network name of the computer on which you are installing SQL Server. For instance, if the computer appears as "BOSTON1" in the Network Neighborhood of your Windows Explorer, "BOSTON1" is the name of the computer. Since Microsoft SQL Server uses the computer name as the database server name, you will need this when completing the Archibus Project Properties form to establish your Archibus project.
